1995 GCC “Additional Correspondence to Administration Officials” Memorandum

This 1995 document is a memorandum from the Global Climate Coalition’s media representative, Jane Agate, to “Editors and Environmental Reporters.” The GCC was a industry-funded organization which opposed greenhouse gas regulations through direct engagement and collaboration with affiliated climate deniers from 1989 to 2002. Its membership spanned across the automotive, utility, manufacturing, petroleum, and mining industries.

In this memo to the press, the GCC recounted materials previously shared with the media including “two pieces of correspondence the Coalition had sent to Administration officials” regarding international climate negotiations. It also notified the press of an upcoming conference call briefing.

This document is part of the private collection of Nicky Sundt, a Washington-based climate change science, policy and communications expert.
