2004 ExxonMobil Advertisement New York Times

A May 12, 2004 advertisement in The New York Times wherein ExxonMobil touts its energy efficiency, reduced emissions, and investments in “energy technology” in a “socially responsible manner.” This advertisement shows the language that is used to the public to paint a proactive and sage approach to climate change by emphasizing job creation and community stabilization. When paired with other documents posted on this site, this advertisement runs contrary to ExxonMobil’s internal actions of funding denial and delay in relation to changes in climate and the environment.
