This Global Climate Coalition (GCC) “Backgrounder” reviewed the climate change related contents of the National Energy Policy Act (NEPA) of 1992. The GCC opposed greenhouse gas regulations through direct engagement and collaboration with affiliated climate deniers from 1989 to 2002. Its membership spanned across the automotive, utility, manufacturing, petroleum, and mining industries.
In the Backgrounder, the GCC stated, “[t]he legislation reflects the concern by many members of Congress that too little is known about climate change science and the economic costs of climate change regulations.”
