This Global Climate Coalition (GCC) news release announced the hiring of Gail Clements McDonald as the GCC’s Chief Executive Officer. The industry-funded GCC opposed greenhouse gas regulations through direct engagement and collaboration with affiliated climate deniers from 1989 to 2002. Its membership spanned across the automotive, utility, manufacturing, petroleum, and mining industries.

Clements McDonald was an Administrator at the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (“Seaway”). Before Seaway, she held positions at the Interstate Commerce Commission, Gas Research Institute, and Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Clements McDonald was replacing John Shlaes.
